Services Offered By Monarch Midwifery
Prenatal Care
At Monarch Midwifery, we offer comprehensive and personalized midwifery care during the prenatal period. Our prenatal visits last at least one hour ensuring that we build a strong trusting relationship prior to your labor. We offer prenatal visits once a month until you reach 32 weeks in your pregnancy. We will then see you once every two weeks until 36 weeks, and then once a week until you go into labor. Your 37 and 38 week visits are home visits!
Nutritional counseling will be included as well as remedies and suggestions for physical changes and common complaints during pregnancy. We will also discuss procedures, screenings, and/or tests that are regularly done during pregnancy and offer pregnancy related lab testing. We offer 24 hour on call support throughout your care with us.
Labor Support & Water Birth
When you go into labor, your midwives will come to your home when you are ready for support. We will stay with you and be as hands on, or as hands off as you want us to be while you are laboring.
Water births are a wonderful option for many families. Laboring in the warm water can be a soothing form of pain relief and can also be a peaceful transition for the birth as the baby moves from “water to water.” If desired, we will bring a tub for you to use at no extra charge. Having the option of water is lovely whether you choose to give birth in the tub or just decide to labor in it.
Postpartum Care
We typically stay in your home with you in the immediate postpartum for 2-4 hours, depending on several factors. We try to protect the first sacred hour of bonding, keeping baby skin to skin with their parents. We also help encourage nursing during this time. Before we leave, we will complete a newborn exam as well as complete other newborn procedures that you have given consent for.
We will continue care by coming to your house in the postpartum period, visiting for about an hour for each visit, and spending time with you and your new baby until all of your questions are answered. We will see you after the birth at one day (approximately 24 hours) and 1 week, all in the comfort of your own home. We will see you for a 2 week and a final 6 week visit in our office. This visit can include a full annual exam and birth control counseling if desired!
Placenta Services
We offer placenta encapsulation services for our clients and as a stand alone service/product for anyone interested! The fee for this is $250. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
