How We Support Your Journey
From your first prenatal visit to your six-week postpartum checkup, we offer comprehensive,
personalized care every step of the way.
Prenatal Care
At Monarch, we offer comprehensive, personalized midwifery care throughout your pregnancy. Our prenatal visits are an hour long, because building a trusting relationship before labor matters deeply to us.
You can even do prenatal care with us if you are planning a hospital birth! (Scroll down to prenatal and postpartum care with hospital delivery for details)
We'll see you once a month until 28 weeks, every two weeks from 28 to 36 weeks, and then weekly until you go into labor. Your 37-week visit is a home visit, so we can familiarize ourselves with your space before the big day.
Prenatal care includes nutritional counseling, remedies and suggestions for common pregnancy discomforts, and thorough discussions of any screenings, procedures, or tests that come up along the way. We believe in informed choice, meaning we'll give you clear, evidence-based information and support you in making decisions that feel right for you and your family. Not every test is for every person, and we respect that. We also offer pregnancy-related lab testing right in our office, and provide 24-hour on-call support throughout your care with us.
Home Birth & Water Birth
When you go into labor, your midwives will come to you. We'll arrive when you're ready for support and stay with you throughout, being as hands-on or hands-off as you'd like. As licensed midwives, we carry lifesaving medications, including medications to address hemorrhage, IV fluids, and antibiotics, so you can feel confident that you're in safe, capable hands at home.
Water birth is a beautiful option for many families. Laboring in warm water can offer natural pain relief and a gentle, peaceful transition for your baby as they move from one world to the next. We'll bring the tub at no extra charge. Whether you choose to give birth in the water or simply labor in it, having that option is a wonderful thing.

Prenatal & Postpartum Care with Hospital Delivery
Monarch now offers prenatal and postpartum care for clients planning to deliver in the hospital, whether that's due to a higher-risk pregnancy or simply a personal preference. You'll receive the same quality of care as our home birth clients: hour-long visits, informed choice, and a relationship built on trust.
We'll help connect you with your preferred hospital, and you can choose to have a Monarch midwife with you as your doula for continuity of care, or we can meet you on the other side with postpartum home visits after your delivery. Now also available for clients with state insurance, so reach out to find out if it's a good fit for you.
Postpartum Care
We typically stay with you for two to four hours after the birth, honoring that first sacred hour of skin-to-skin bonding and supporting early nursing. Before we leave, we'll complete a newborn exam and any other newborn procedures you've consented to.
In the days and weeks that follow, we continue care with home visits at approximately 24 hours and one week postpartum, staying as long as it takes to answer all your questions and make sure you and your baby feel settled. We'll then see you at two weeks and six weeks in the office. That final visit can include a full annual exam and birth control counseling if you'd like.

Doula Services
All three Monarch midwives began their careers as doulas and have collectively supported over 1,300 births. If you're planning a hospital birth, a doula with midwifery training and experience can make a meaningful difference, offering education, guidance, and steady support throughout your journey.
Our doula package includes two prenatal visits to create a birth plan and get to know what support looks like for you, continuous physical and emotional support at your birth, and one postpartum visit to follow up, debrief, and talk through anything on your mind.
Placenta Services
We offer placenta encapsulation services for our clients and as a stand alone service/product for anyone interested! The fee for this is $300. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
