ALACE Doula and Monarch Monitrice
I have been serving women during labor and birth for almost two years now, and it has been the most rewarding work I have ever done. My experience with homebirth began with the births of my own two children; each at home with a midwife. My passion to attend women came out of the compassionate care that I received from the women who were with me when I labored and birthed. After attending many births as a doula, I decided to pursue my dream to become a homebirth midwife. I have traveled out of the country to attend births in Honduras so I could experience birth cross-culturally. I am interested in ancient birthing traditions and cultures and I am fascinated with the tribal birthing communities and styles. My birth philosophy is eclectic and multifacted but primarily honors the woman's choice, style, and preferences in pregnancy, labor, and birth. I like to encourage women to tap into their own source of power and creative energies to bring forth their very best birthing experience.
