Doula care includes emotional, physical, and informational support during your labor and birth.  I can assist you in writing a birth plan, and offer comfort measures and assistance during your labor.  I can also help with the initial postpartum and breast feeding period.

As a Monarch Monitrice I will be able to offer the same support as a doula, with the added benifit of being able to do cervical checks for dialation, listen to fetal heart tones, and check other vitals.  This allows you to decide when it is truly time to go to the hospital, or call your midwife.  Other assistance I can provide as a monitrice includes some health counsiling, complimentary care referrals, suggestions of herbal remedies, assistance with family bonding and care, and light counsiling.
