Donna M. Galati, CNM
I am a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) who moved from Lexington Kentucky to Fayetteville North Carolina in 2008.
Originally from New Jersey where I worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse for over 8 years. I started out in a small community hospital staffed by Midwives, where the majority of the births were natural. This is where I learned most of my skills and fell in love with the birth process. I then moved to a much larger teaching facility, where I learned to care for critically ill women and respond to emergency situations.
During this time I missed the natural process and decided to go back to school to become a Midwife. I graduated from Hahnemann University in Pennsylvania with my bachelor's degree, and then continued on to Philadelphia University to complete my Midwifery degree. I worked in the hospital setting for one year in NJ, once we moved to Lexington KY I opened up my home birth practice. I have been attending to home births for over 4 years now!
I have labored with thousands of women and caught hundreds of babies, and I still love everything about the birthing process. I am honored to work with women and their families, and to support them as they embark upon this life-changing journey.
