Donna M. Galati, CNM

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) who recently moved from Lexington Kentucky to Fayetteville North Carolina. In Lexington I was unable to find a hospital job as a CNM and realized many women were doing home births. I decided to open Monarch Midwifery and start a homebirth practice! After Monarch was up and running I was offered hospital positions but I would have to stop doing deliveries at home, I could NOT do that so I stayed working as home birth midwife. Over the past year ans a half I have delivered 43 babies. My practice was thriving... and then my husband's job moved us to Fayetteville.

Orginally from New Jersey where I worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse for over 8 years. I started out in a small community hospital staffed by Midwives, where the majority of the births were natural. This is where I learned most of my skills and fell in love with the birth process. I then moved to a much larger teaching facility, where I learned to care for critically ill women and respond to emergency situations.

During this time I missed the natural process and decided to go back to school to become a Midwife. I graduated from Hahnemann University in Pennsylvania with my bachelor's degree, and then continued on to Philadelphia University to complete my Midwifery degree. I have labored with thousands of women and caught over one hundred babies, and I still love everything about the birthing process. I am honored to work with women and their families, and to support them as they embark upon this life-changing journey.

Jessica E. Morris, RYT, CD

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and a Certified Doula.  I am originally from Richmond, Kentucky but am moving to Fayetteville, North Carolina with Monarch Midwifery.  There I will help to open a natural maternity and mothering shoppe, yoga studio, and birth business.  I will also be taking clients with Butterfly Birth Services as a Doula and soon, Monitrice.  Starting next year I will be attending school to become an RN, then a Certified Nurse-Midwife.  Helping and supporting women is my passion and calling and I am glad to have found an area in which I can pursue it.

I am also a natural health advocate.  I believe that God and nature provided us with the tools we need to stay healthy and heal.  When we introduce unnatural things to our system, we encounter problems.  This is why I am a supporter of Natural Birth, as well as good nutrition and herbal medicine.  I am not against Western medicine when the situation calls for it, but I believe that the overuse of drugs can cause an imbalance in our bodies.
